Music legend Kiki Dee supports age exclusive living

11 October 2013

A recent night of music and entertainment at The Croft, a Larkfleet Homeslifestyle living development for the over 55s in Bourne, Lincolnshire, saw music legend Kiki Dee voice her support for the development and the type of lifestyle it offers residents.

Kiki, who has had enormous success in the music and musical theatre industries, sang and took part in a Q&A session during a special event at the development. Local Motown and soul band Motor City Vipers also took to the stage during the evening.

The Croft offers high quality living for the over 55s in a superb location - perfect for those who want independent, stylish yet secure living with future support if necessary - something that Kiki was keen to praise.

In a speech to guests at the event, Kiki said: 'What I really honestly believe about this kind of living is you need to have your privacy and you need to have support, those are the two key words for me.'

Kiki also told guests about her mother Mary, who moved to a similar age exclusive development in Yorkshire, and found a new lease of life there with new friends and experiences.

Kiki said: 'There's a song on my new album which is called 'She's Smiling Now' and it's about the experience of my mother finding that wonderful chapter in her life, after moving to an over 55s development.'

The Croft offers a variety of sixty-nine one, two and three-bedroom properties, including bungalows, and all are arranged around beautifully landscaped courtyards and gardens.

The focal point of The Croft is a former manor house which acts as the 'hub' of the development. It's the perfect location for activities, hobby classes or just a good catch up with friends.

Kiki also commended the energy-efficient nature of the development's properties and the fact that Larkfleet is focussed on sustainability. She said: 'We have to preserve energy for our children's children. That's an amazing thing and I love that.'

The Croft is marketed not just as a place to live but as a community of like-minded people who are young at heart and enjoy full and varied lifestyles.

In reference to the lifestyle opportunities which The Croft offers residents, and in a nod to her own age, Kiki, 64, said: "I'm two weeks older than Elton (John) and he never lets me forget it. The census from 2011 says there are approximately 53 million people in England and of those people 1 in 6 people are now 65, or 65 and over, which means it's our time!"

The Croft offers the opportunity for homeowners to truly enjoy the lives that they want to lead as all day-to-day property maintenance is taken care of. With an estate manager on site, globetrotters can rest assured their property at The Croft is in safe hands as they explore the world.

Karl Hick, Larkfleet's managing director, commented: 'We were delighted to have Kiki Dee visit the development and provide a first class night of entertainment for guests at the event.

'Importantly, Kiki recognised the benefits this type of living can offer residents as she has seen it first hand through the experiences of her own mother. We are very pleased that Kiki, like our current residents, has so many positive things to say about The Croft.'

The sales team at The Croft understands that different homebuyers' financial circumstances are varied so it has developed a range of finance schemes and options which can be tailored to suit individual buyers including an 'assisted move' and 'shared equity' schemes.

And if people want to really get a feel for the quality homes Larkfleet provides, The Croft offers homebuyers the opportunity to 'try out' a Larkfleet property for a weekend - or a few days during the week.

The Croft is a joint venture between Larkfleet Homes and Keystone Developments.
